Schedule an appointment

Book a call at a location and add the animals you'll see during the trip.

An appointment is a single trip to one place. You set when, where, and who's going, then add a visit for each animal you'll see.

Prerequisites: ideally the location and patients already exist, but you can create them as you go.

Steps

  1. Click Calendar in the top navigation.
  2. Click an open time slot, or click New Appointment. A form opens.
  3. Set the date and time.
  4. Choose the provider — the vet making the call.
  5. Set the location — search your saved locations, or enter a one-off address.
  6. (Optional) Choose a primary contact — the person meeting you at the barn.
  7. (Optional) Set an estimated duration and add travel notes (gate codes, road conditions).
  8. Add the animals you'll see: for each one, add a visit with the patient and a visit type (such as Lameness Exam or Wellness Exam). One appointment can hold several visits.
  9. Click Save.

You'll know it worked when…

The appointment appears on the calendar at the chosen time, and clicking it shows a visit for each animal.

Tip: Seeing three horses at one barn? Add three visits to the one appointment rather than booking three appointments — it's one trip. See Appointments vs visits.

What's next on the day

When you arrive, open the appointment to mark it In progress and record what you do on each visit. See Conduct a visit.
